Birdwatching excursion in Kuusamo

See the interesting bird species of the old forests in their magical habitat and develop your identification skills with the help of an experienced guide!

In a quiet forest, mysterious spruce elders rise high around us. From their crowns, the song melodies of the birds are carried to our ears. Red-flanked Bluetail, Dunnock, Wren, Goldcrest and a few thrushes are ordinary songbirds. We move calmly in the forest and try to find as many different bird species as possible with our binoculars.

On the paths of the old dim spruce forests, we also have the opportunity to find Pygmy Owl, Three-toed Woodpecker, Siberian Jay, Black Woodpecker or Hazel Grouse. The guide will be an experienced bird guide that will tell you about the birds and help you develop your bird identification skills.

Time: Departure on from Kuusamo, May-July.

Duration: 8 hours

Target group: The trip is designed for all people interested in birds. Beginners have the opportunity to develop their own bird identification skills, and more experienced ones are sought to find special species in the area, such as Red-flanked Bluetail, Three-toed Woodpecker, Hazel Grouse or Pygmy Owl. We walk a few kilometers so the hike requires reasonably good physical condition.

Meals: Meals are not included. Please bring enough snacks and drinks with you.

Group size: 4-7 people. If you wish, you can also book a private trip for your own group. Please contact office for asking more!

Transportation: The tour includes transportation by car or minibus.

Price: 250 euros per person. Minimum group size is 4. The price includes transport from Ruka or Kuusamo, guide services, liability insurance.

The tour will be arranged when we have at least three registered. If there are not enough people registered by 4pm the previous day, we will cancel the trip and refund the money.
