Wildlife of Oulanka in autumn colors – photo excursion

Go into taiga forest and enjoy the magnificent wildlife of Oulanka inside of the photography hide!

Around the Oulanka National Park lives fascinating wildlife over the year. Old coniferous forest with beautiful autumn colors gives an excellent nature experience during the autumn season. Inside of our photography hides front of the feeding place of birds and other wildlife, is possible to explore many species of birds, which visits at the feeding place during the day. Hides are located at the marvelous scenery with a view over the Oulanka River canyon. If we are lucky old resident pair of Golden Eagles glides over the canyon searching of food before they arrive top of the trees around the feeding place. Highlight of the excursion would be sight of the Golden Eagle eye to eye, when they visit closest 10 meters from the hide. How exciting!

During the excursion we will discover the wildlife of Oulanka from the photography hide, where is possible to see and capture the giant Golden Eagle, northern latitude birds Siberian Jay and Siberian Tit, curious Red Squirrel and many other bird species at close range. The guide is a nature photography professional who tells you about the birds and introduces them to photography, such as composition, different angles, or camera settings according to the wishes of the people.

Also we have a delicious picnic lunch and coffee, tea or hot chocolate in the heated photography hide front of the birds feeding place.

Details

Date: The excursion departs on September-October. Inquire about the possibility of another time as well!

Duration: 8-10 hours, 9am to 7pm

Target group: We will walk a maximum of 300 meters in the forest. The route is easy and suitable for people with basic fitness.

Meals: During the excursion, we provide delicious packed lunches and coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

Group size: 3-7 people. You can also book a private excursion for your own group.

Transportation: The trip includes transportation by car or minibus.

Price: 200 euros, including transportation from Ruka or Kuusamo, packed lunches and coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, guide services, tips from a professional nature photographer for taking better nature photos, and liability insurance.

we start the excursion when there are at least three adults registered. If there are not enough registrations by 4 pm on the day before, we will cancel the tour and refund the money
