Wildlife of Oulanka –photo excursion
Go into the taiga forest and enjoy the magnificent wildlife of Oulanka inside the photography hide!
Around the Oulanka National Park lives fascinating wildlife over the winter season. Old coniferous forest with snow covered trees gives an excellent nature experience during the winter. Inside of our heated photography hides front of the feeding place of birds and other wildlife, is possible to explore more than 10 species of birds, which visits actively at the feeding place during short winter days. Hides are located at the marvelous scenery with a view over the Oulanka River canyon. If we are lucky old resident pair of Golden Eagles glides over the canyon searching of food before they arrive top of the trees around the feeding place. Highlight of the excursion would be sight of the Golden Eagle eye to eye, when they visit closest 10 meters from the hide. How exciting!
During the excursion we will discover the wildlife of Oulanka from the heated photography hide, where is possible to see and capture the giant Golden Eagle, mature forest resident Black Woodpecker, northern latitude birds Siberian Jay and Siberian Tit, curious Red Squirrel and many other bird species at close range. The guide is a nature photography professional who tells you about the birds and introduces them to photography, such as composition, different angles, or camera settings according to the wishes of the people.
Our group is small from 4 to 7 person, so guide has a good possibility assist everyone in the group during the excursion. The excursion, including transportation with a normal car or minibus, takes about 7-8 hours and maximum few hundreds meters walk in the old forest of Oulanka. The route is quite easy and suitable for people with normal condition.
Excursions starts different hours, depends light conditions, so we will let you know after reservations, what time your excursions starts and ends.
